Stone Crafting Process

BLOCK DISCOVERY

NATURAL STONE BLOCK DISCOVERY

At the quarries, we find natural stone blocks, like hidden treasures waiting to be discovered. From these blocks, we create marble and granite, adding timeless beauty to spaces with quality craftsmanship. We try to select the most superior blocks from the finest quarries across the globe and by PERFECT block we mean perfect, our selection ratio rests around 1 out of 100 blocks, during our quarry visit.

LOADING & UNLOADING THE BLOCKS

We take the utmost care while loading and unloading the stone blocks at quarry and. We handle each block with care, ensuring they are transported safely and efficiently. Our process guarantees that every block reaches its destination intact and ready for the next stage of production.

DRESSING & SAWING

DRESSING THE RAW STONE BLOCK

We meticulously dress each raw stone block to prepare them for the transformation process. With precision and attention to detail, we smooth and shape the blocks, ensuring they are ready to reveal their inherent beauty as marble and granite slabs.

STRENTHENING THE BLOCK

This step involves adding fuel to the fire. During this process, the dressed block is reinforced with fiberglass netting and a semi-solid formula of tenax to enhance its strength and durability, ensuring it can withstand breakages when fed into the gangsaw machinery. The raw block is enveloped from five sides with this reinforcement and left to dry.

SAWING THE STONE BLOCK

In the next stage, the raw stone blocks are sawed into slabs. Large gangsaw machinery slices through the blocks with precision, transforming them into smooth and uniform slabs ready for further processing. This process ensures that each slab meets our quality standards and is ready for its next journey. Standing still with the international quality standards, the company cuts uniformly thicker slabs to 18 - 20 mm, compared to a practice of cutting it down to 14-15mm.

STRENGTHNING THE SLABS

DRYING & FLAMING

During this crucial phase, the meticulously cut wet slabs undergo a rigorous cleaning process to remove any impurities. Subsequently, they are exposed to high temperatures for pre-heating, meticulously orchestrated to ensure the slabs remain impeccably dry while preserving their innate weathering attributes intact

FIBERGLASS MESH STRENGTHNING

To ensure the safe transportation of our delicate slabs to our esteemed customers, we apply Fiberglass Mesh as a protective layer. This specialized mesh safeguards our slabs from potential damages during transit, providing an added layer of security. Prior to installation, the Fiberglass Mesh is expertly removed, ensuring our customers receive flawless slabs ready for their intended use.

RESIN APPLICATION TO THE BLOCKS

Here, we apply a precise mixture of Epoxy Resin to each slab before they are moved into our state-of-the-art resin line, where they are dried at optimal temperatures. This imported Epoxy Resin, with its thin formula, penetrates deeply into every crack and pore of the slab, effectively sealing all natural imperfections. This process ensures long-lasting strength, durability, and provides additional years of longevity compared to similar products on the market.

VACUUM TREATMENT

This step involves adding fuel to the fire. During this process, the dressed block is reinforced with fiberglass netting and a semi-solid formula of tenax to enhance its strength and durability, ensuring it can withstand breakages when fed into the gangsaw machinery. The raw block is enveloped from five sides with this reinforcement and left to dry.

RESIN REFINING & REFILLING

The skilled team at Shubh Stonex conducts thorough inspections of each slab after they emerge from the vacuum chamber. This process involves refilling any unsettled cracks and pores. Subsequently, the slab is returned to the automated Resin Plant, where it undergoes drying alongside 45 - 90 other slabs within two hours, as opposed to the lengthy two-day process utilized by other companies. Notably, Stonite's method minimizes exposure to uneven temperatures and excessive dust, ensuring superior quality and efficiency in their operations.

GRINDING & POLISHING

SLAB GRINDING

Slight variations in slab cutting can occur, sometimes as small as a hair's breadth. However, to guarantee absolute consistency, we subject all slabs to our state-of-the-art grinding machine after the resin application. This process ensures uniformity across all our products, eliminating even the slightest discrepancies in thickness or surface finish.

POLISHING

In the final stage, our refined slabs receive a glossy finish from our automated line polishers. This process imparts an unparalleled mirror finish glow to the slabs, surpassing the conventional polishing methods employed by many stone producers in India by 30%.
